Craig Cohen moved to South Florida in 1978 from Philadelphia. His dad had been in the pool business in Philadelphia and relocated to Florida. Craig moved here and began working in the home improvement area and gradually became involved in the swimming pool business. You could say it was in his blood.
Craig has now been in the pool business for 30 years and has a genuine love for the Florida outdoors. He started in the business because of his dad, but grew to enjoy the enjoyment he gave families when building a pool for them. “As my business grew, the families I built pools for kept me going. The looks on the kids faces when they first jump into their new pool and hearing there’s the pool man, whenever they saw me made it all worthwhile!”
Craig loves living in South Florida and has 2 daughters who have grown up here. Dana the oldest graduated from Florida State University and is working in public relations in Miami and Ashley is a junior at Florida State University majoring in theatre. They were both born in Florida and are true “pool princesses”.
Craig also believes in being involved, he has been active in his homeowner’s association by serving on it’s’ board. He is also very sportive of his daughter’s activities such as gymnastics, dance, horseback riding and theatre.
As a company owner, Craig believes it is his responsibility to keep up with the pool industry which is constantly changing. “For me to be able to offer my customers the best, I have to keep up with the latest and newest products.” This involves Craig going to show and seminars and talking with various representatives about their newest products available. This is how his company is able to give customers all choices available to them and not just some of them.
“My family is very important to me and I treasure the time we have had together. A lot of that time has been spent in the swimming pool. When building our pool, I tried to think about how we would use the pool and how I could design a pool to meet our specific needs. Even though my daughters were young, I asked them what they would like.” This philosophy is how Craig builds pools for his customers. Each family is asked what they want in a pool and then a design is developed around their wants.
